Create routes in permanent rows of crops for mowing, spraying and more!

Overview

Row to Row lets your Burro drive itself down the rows of permanent crops — vineyards, orchards, and berry fields — to handle repetitive coverage work like mowing and spraying. You map your site and lay out routes once; after that, Burro runs those rows on its own, staying centered between the plants whether or not it has a strong GPS signal.

What you can do with it

  • Mow row corridors with the Cortador.

  • Spray under-crop berms to knock down weeds with the Sprayito.

  • Attach 3rd party implements

What you need

  • A LiDAR-equipped Burro for areas with poor GPS — Verde, Grande 15, or Grande 44.

  • A mapped site with routes built in BOSS Web.

  • The attachment for your job: Cortador, Sprayito, or a supported third-party implement.

How it works at a glance

  1. Map the sitecapture row end points with the Torch, or draw them on a drone map.

  2. Build routes in BOSS Web — create crop lines, row areas, customize parameters, and generate routes.

  3. Run — select the area on the robot and let Burro cover the rows autonomously.

Other crops

Row to Row may extend to other crops. Share field data or photos of the crop with Burro to gauge confidence before relying on it.

What determines fit

Crop type is a starting point, not a guarantee — conditions vary within a crop. Row to Row works best when:

  • Rows are relatively straight — curved rows need GPS-only RTK torch recorded routes or BOSS Web drawn routes on Drone map.

  • The corridor is clear from obstacles & dense foliage

    • There are no snag hazards — low vines (common to Y-trellis) that can snag and trip the bumper.

  • GPS is available in the headlands for turns, or the crop is one where LiDAR row centering is validated.

Heavy foliage — hanging from a canopy or tunnel overhead, or low in-row near the ground — can slow Burro; see Robot Settings for tuning.
