Exclusion Zones
Exclusion Zones are used to define areas that should be avoided during area path generation. These zones help account for obstacles such as trees, ditches, or buildings when creating mowing or other area coverage paths.
Note: Exclusion Zones do not prevent a Burro from traveling through them during autonomy or manual control. They only impact the area generation tool that creates paths.
How to Create and Use Exclusion Zones
Open your map in BOSS Web.
From the toolbar, select the Shape Tool.
Draw the shape around the area you want excluded.
Right-click the shape (or use the right-hand menu) and select Convert to Exclusion.
The zone will turn red and display an information pop-up.
Smoothening shapes makes for more reliable Area Path Generation and more precise and thorough coverage.
Once exclusions are in place, draw an area shape and use Create Area Path. The path generator will automatically avoid excluded areas.
After Area Path Generation, be sure to double check and make sure the tool did not pass through any exclusion zones. If so, you can regenerate or manually adjust the path.
